The bookshelf

The open book, at its real size

The north-star list promised an open book, and this is it at the size this repository actually is: 4 chapters, 294 KB of markdown, every chapter a file the repo versions. Nothing here is a lead magnet — no email gate, no PDF re-typeset to drift — the same bytes the maintainers edit are the bytes you read, and the feed follows them.

Part I — the ledger

docs/enrichment-500.md · 163.0 KB

1. Enrichment 500 + the audit batches

Every shipped item from the 500-row programme and the two audit series after it (rows 502–529): what was wrong, what shipped, and the check that keeps each true.

2. Enrichment 500, volume two

The second half of the programme — items 251–500, the community and retention surface, the ops console and the export registry.

Part III — the plans

docs/product-plan.md · 22.5 KB

3. Product plan & content upgrade

The two planning documents the build was cut from: what the product is for, and the content ladder the site's pages climbed.

Part IV — the register

docs/suggestions-100.md · 40.8 KB

4. 100 ways to make Motif deeper

The next hundred, measured rather than wished: each item starts from a count or a gap the harness printed, and the register at the back names what shipped and what keeps it true.

Why chapters are files, not pages

A book that is retyped into HTML is a second copy of the truth, and the second copy always drifts. Each chapter link serves the repository's own markdown file — through the export endpoint, with the repository's path printed beside it — so the book is exactly as current as the repo, no fresher and no staler.

What the book is not

It is not a tutorial series, and it is not finished — the register chapter names its own open items. The playbook pages on the site (metrics, quality, craft, brand notes) are the narrative half; this shelf is the record half. A claim that lives on both is written once and linked, never copied.

The playbook's narrative pages: open metrics · craft excerpts · build notes
